Jasmine Hardy is an award-winning digital video producer and proud HBCU alumna from the Boogie Down Bronx. She graduated from Virginia State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications.
Jasmine’s journey as a producer began at theGrio– a Black-owned media outlet. She started as an intern as a production assistant and worked her way to becoming a freelance video producer, then becoming a senior video producer. She’s produced short and long-form lifestyle, entertainment, health, wellness, beauty, human-interest and news video content and has experience in pre-production, field producing, and post-production. She’s won three Anthem Awards for her work on theGrio’s series Black Made, Unheard and a profile she did on an Orlando Pulse Massacre survivor.
Outside of her work at theGrio, she created a series called “Dance is Life” that focuses on the dance community. With this series, Jasmine wants to shed light on professional dancers in the industry, and everyday people who love to dance, and also use dance to shed light on human interest topics.
Jasmine takes pride in going the extra mile to shed light on stories or people that may go under the radar. She believes storytelling is a powerful tool for human connection. You never know whose story you can resonate with or see yourself in. Jasmine’s next goal as a producer is to work on documentaries, docuseries, and unscripted television. She is currently seeking job opportunities and also open to exploring other industries.
